I went to Coastline Gallery in Huntington Beach and an artist by the name of Lita Albuquerque was giving a lecture on some installations she did in the Antarctic and Arctic Pole. It was these blue spheres that she aligned to the exact position of 99 stars, in which she and a team of 50 or so scientists were able to do this using GPS while enduring below zero temperatures! It was truly inspiring. Check out her site: http://litaalbuquerque.com/

After that lecture I biked down to OCC where they had a closing for the Melvin Sokolsky, and Janice Lowry show. Their blog is: http://occartspavilion.blogspot.com/

Two bands played at the closing, one was Joy Shannon. She played on a mini harp accompanied by a band and sang about goddesses and relationships it was weirdly ethereal.  The other band was Blue Ritual  who was also good.

Check them out as its rather difficult to write about a bands sound...Also check http://ashesinorangepeels.blogspot.com/p/together-magazine.html which featured Joy Shannon.

I painted my vans shoes again, a radiation green leopard print design...

Also, I put together a portfolio a while ago for the art department in an attempt to receive a art scholarship and I was surprised to discover that I will be receiving  it on Honors night at OCC. I am very grateful and happy for it!
